assessment

  • clinic-based tests of vision, cognition, and physical skills
  • behind-the-wheel road test to evaluate driving skills
  • identification of individual’s driving ability
  • all assessments conducted by an occupational therapist specializing in driver rehabilitation

intervention

  • driving rehabilitation services provided by an occupational therapist
  • training in the use of adaptive equipment
  • behind-the-wheel re-training

alternatives

  • identification of alternative transportation for those unable to continue to drive safely
  • training in the use of alternative modes of transportation
  • identification and connection to resources to acquire goods and services

presentations

In addition to our community mobility services, educational programming is provided to community members, agencies, and healthcare providers. Program content focuses on knowledge and awareness of mobility issues, driver-vehicle fit, the complexity of driving, driving assessment, remediation, referral, and mobility options.
